uCette face-là, elle est au Canada! Chope le mix sur radiozero.ca, le podcast de my mellow - my man, the one and only Tyler Fedchuck.
Voilà déjà la playlist:
DABRYE "So Scientific" (2001Ghostly International)
aka Tadd Mullinix, you know, the guy who worked with Jay dee, Prefuse 73 and Jurassic 5. I love that sound. I'm always expecting Afrika Bambaataa to comme up with a "zulu" chorus anytime.
LAURENT LA TORPILLE "SanSSucreS" (2005 Euro-Visions)
More beats, more electro, this is Baroque Beats fore sure. Go Rouen, go!
PSYCHIC TV "OV Power" (2003 Tigersushi)
A re-issue of this mid-eighties track performed by Genesis P. Orridge's posse. Those were the "house" times of the band, and maybe not the best times. Anyway, still crazy enough to fit that mix.
UTER "Tomorrow's Clown" (2003 Oscarr Recordings)
Jesus & Mary Chain's alive! Uter met them on the bus with the Cocteau Twins.
STARSHOOTER "Le Poinconneur des Lilas" (1978 Pathé Marconi)
A gonzo punk band from Lyon, France, performing a Serge gainsbourg cover. A great sleeve design by Etienne Robial, and it was great to put this track just before:
TORTOISE & BONNIE PRINCE BILLY "That's Pep!" (2006 Overcoat Recordings)
A great Devo track, an insane song in an insane version. Great, and these guys made a whole album filled with magnificent covers from songs by Bruce Springsteen or Elton John. It's called the brave and the Bold, go and get it!
GRAND MASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE "The Message - instrumental" (1982 Sugarhill records)
It's always cool to put an easy classic between rough rarities…
ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO "Moscu Esta Helado" (1980 Ata Tak)
Spain used to go industrial, did you know that?
